"Dingir," the ancient Sumerian symbol for "sky" or "deity", evolved from a pictographic representation of a star. Heaven or sky is the upper level of the universe, all that is high or elevated.
The symbol was was often added to names as a silent honorific meaning "divine."
Handcrafted in New York City, each pendant is cast in sterling silver from a wax impression. Each has its own special character, and each is meant to look antique and imperfect.
Pendant measures approximately 24mm across (large size); approximately 18mm across (small size). Sterling silver with oxidized finish. Hangs from a 20" oxidized sterling silver chain.
Each pendant comes in a black velvet gift pouch, and includes a special talisman insert designed by Damien Echols, with the meaning: "May the Light protect, guide, illuminate and bless me."
NOTE: due to the unique process by which these pendants are made, an "irregular"/"rustic" appearance is intended and to be expected. Please be aware. Additional photos are available upon request.
